Championship Tournament - Canceled Again Due to Rain!

We had a special breakfast today. The drive was long but the food was good, and the company was great. And by the demeanor of our members as they entered the dinning hall, one could easily tell they were all raring to have fun and play, not to mention grab the much coveted championship trophies.

 

On a serious note, I know that as much as everyone was ready to play, the weather just did not cooperate, and thanks to Rick, he managed to convince the management to reverse their stand and agreed to cancel the tournament.

 

I was further impressed by the attendance… Out of the 27 scheduled to play only 2 did not arrive. With that kind of weather that was very impressive.

 

The day was not a total loss however because we accomplished two very important things. We were able to get the commitment of those present to stay with the club for at least another year and get a head count for our dinner. What’s left is for the rest to mail their renewal checks to Rick ASAP as we have to update our roster by December 31st, and email me whether they will attend the dinner or not. A word of caution, we will be forced to drop from the roster those who fail to send Rick their renewal checks and I understand SCGA imposes an additional fee for reinstatement.

 

With regards to the Club Championship and Tournament of Champions tournaments, we will hold them on January 9, 2011 at The Retreat Golf Course. I hope the adage “3rd is a charm” holds true because it would be a shame not to crown a champion this year, which hasn’t happened in the history of our club.

 

I have attached the renewal list and dinner head count for your review to insure accuracy. Feel free to contact me should you find any discrepancy.
